Kansas 811 will provide information about resources that can be found on Kansas811.com, upcoming community events, the Safety Summit, and more.
8:30 – 8:50 a.m.Pipeline Safety
Attendees will have to opportunity to speak with pipeline safety professionals to understand the unique circumstances and additional precautions when excavating near pipelines.
8:50 – 9:00 a.m.Break
9:00 – 9:45 a.m.ITICnxt Training
(For those that this applies to.)
Attendees will get further training on ITICnxt and tools available within the system.
9:45 – 10:15 a.m.Understanding the Law
Kansas 811 will answer questions and address the law changes that became effective 1/1/2024.
10:15 – 11:00 a.m.Best Practices
Includes CGA Best Practices, trench safety, potholing, etc.
11:00 a.m.
– 12:30 p.m.
Lunch with additional speakers
12:30 – 1:00 p.m.Damage Investigations When a damage occurs, are you adequately prepared to conduct a damage investigation?
1:00 – 4:00 p.m.Locator Training provided by Subsurface Solutions

As many of you may have heard, we are excited to announce the upcoming Kansas Locate Rodeo! This is an event exclusively for underground utility locators and offers a unique opportunity for locators to showcase their skills and compete with the best in the industry. Registration is FREE.

Event Details:

Tuesday, September 10

3 – 4 p.m.: Competitor Check-In (KMU Training Center – 2090 East Ave A, McPherson, KS)
4 p.m.: Mandatory Competitor Meeting (NOTE: If you do not attend this meeting, you will not be able to compete.)
5 p.m.: Pizza Dinner/Sponsor Mix and Mingle

Wednesday, September 11

7:30 a.m.: Judges/ Volunteer Meeting
8:30 a.m.: Competition Starts
Beginning at 11:30 a.m.: Lunch will be served during the competition, as time allows for each competitor
4 p.m.: Award Ceremony – Trophies and prizes to be awarded

When a meet is requested by an excavator, an affected operator shall make a reasonable effort to attend the meet at the proposed date and time, or contact the excavator before the meet and reschedule for a mutually agreed upon date and time.
